Had my first couple of games tonight and was decidedly underwhelmed. Sorry, I'm sure this has got its fans, but as with all things Lardie, it bored me to tears.
Well said sir. I have always thought there was a touch of the Emperor's new clothes about Lardie rules, but then I think that about every "faddy" new set of rules. Any set of wargames rules that you can't the hang of in one read through are not worth the effort, which is why my copy of CoC is sitting on a shelf gathering dust. (along with all my other rules purchases if I was honest.)

Just won three games of WaT against my regular opponent as prep for both of us for helping out on our club's WaT game at Bovington on 14th/15th July - if you're going to be there, do pop by and say hello. Game 1, I was Germans (Pz III and Stug III) v his Russkies (T34 and KV1); game 2, my early Italians (M13/40 & F13/41 ) v his early French (Somua 35 & R40); and game 3, my different early Italians (M11/39 & L6/40) v early British (A13 & Crusader II). All 3 games were 2-0, although in the 1st and 3rd games I was down command dice - overall, my dice weren't great but his were much worse. Used the same model tanks in each case, but different stats and different terrain.
SP2 interests mean that my Char B1s are still untouched, but I'm hoping to progress them after getting some inspiration from the Bovvy Char. Also looks like there's going to be a superb Boshin War SP2 game there, as well, from another Southampton-based club.

Two games today - first, three ‘vanilla’ Sherman 75’s vs a Panther.
Fritz overkilled one plucky Brit in the first round. My remaining oppo and I managed to split his attention with good ‘move’ dice and draw his teeth by taking dice off him, until probability eventually handed me a good damage roll and him a failed save.
Then two Cromwells and an Achilles vs. two PZ IVs & a Stug.
The terrain was split by a dense patch of woods in the centre, and it was always going to be a 2-1 split for both sides.
This resulted in my Cromwell facing one Panzer and the Stug, while my team-mates faced a single panzer.
Knowing it would be suicide to overcommit, I kept the hun busy by pulling back out of sight at the end of my turn, denying them a target.
Using this tactic, I managed to get the PzIV down to two dice, while taking only 1 Stug hit in return.
(Meanwhile, the rest of the Allied invasion of Europe was making heavy weather of their single opponent.)
With the PzIV rendered relatively harmless, I decided the Stug was the threat now, and turned my attention to him.
Big mistake - as soon as I stopped shooting at the Panzer, he started getting dice back!
It was back to shoot-&-scoot for me, until the cavalry finally arrived and took the Stug’s attention off me.
I finished off the panzer and was more relieved than aggrieved to have the Achilles get the kill on the Stug.
