Very nice. Just the right amount of detailing, in my humble opinion.

Thanks. Test painting and basing continues. Thinking I'll be doing two ranks of cavalry; here's the start of a half squadron.

Very nice. Are you going to rank the cavalry closer together, in order to leave room for commanders in front, and file closers at the rear?

Not sure yet. I want to go for something like this, but with 2 ranks.

Been working through my planning factors here. 6mm is a bit of a different beast than 18mm+. But, have some first stands done.

Typical Prussian company. 4x of these will make a BN

How I think the cavalry will go. Russian HG here

And the Reusch death Head Hussars test, just for fun. Still thinking they could 'pop' a bit better...

Looking good.

Very impressive.

Pardon the nerdiness, but strictly speaking 1/4 of a battalion would be a division (of two platoons), as companies were only administrative - though why they felt the need to have five companies when they were only going to redeploy them as four divisions is beyond me.

Thanks BVW, and I shall pardon your nerdiness. My turn to nerd out: I'm accustomed to the contemporary US Army, where the administrative unit and command unit is almost always the same thing, at least for MFE elements, so it infects my nomenclature for everything MTOE.

Got another infantry company largely complete last night. So here's now a half BN. Definitely creating the linear quality I'm after. And a little close up shot for kicks.
