I'm a bit late to this conversation but the first time I went to Vappa my wife went along too. She looked around and said "sad but harmless".

But she never met Hoffy.

My wife went to a couple of shows, she is a mental health nurse and well used to tramps smearing themselves in faeces. Even still, she was shocked at the smell.

It all depends on the prevailing circumstances. At Fram we were lovely and welcoming to all the stray sausage munchers who wandered in. Well all of us except Mr Grumpy from Essex.
