My God that’s a lot of typing! What could a fellow want with so many words? I’m off for a sherry and lie down. I feel quite faint.

That's because it's a Friday and you've probably had a crate of beer before the sherry.

Others should take a look at my comment on the previous page about classifying units. It can also be found on the very first post on page one.

Happy Brexit.

Did you just so like use the B word? Nearly 48hrs into it, and we're still alive. Praise the Lord. 🙂
I will pm you tomorrow about what chaps I have.

I shall believe that when I see it.

And yes, I did so just like use the B word.

I see a suggestion for classifying foot troops but what about cavalry? Heavy/Light/Skirmish?

Yes, I've rather ignored cavalry, haven't I. I don't like cavalry.

Firstly, there's 'horse' and then there's skirmishing light cavalry. There is unlikely to be any distinction between light, heavy or dragoon horse. It will just be horse. From memory I believe the rules give a plus to cuirassiers (or a minus when fighting them? I'll have to check).

Horse will need to comply with the same maximum frontage as the foot, or there abouts. It means that some of us will need to form our horse in two ranks, most of us won't, but as I said before, it looks very manly.

Skirmishing cavalry will probably be down graded in the same way as skirmishing or open order foot (this does not mean close order but loose filed foot). They'll get pushed around by any six year old armed with a wooden sword. But they will be very annoying by stopping fast movement by the enemy.

Are we using battalion guns?

And just 26 days later the Apocalypse scenario is unfolding.

There's a 3 page QRS covering their use.
Sorry Iain, couldn't resist.

I've been discussing battalion guns with Iain and you do him a disservice. I think he's got it down to two sides...of A3...
