You're not confusing that with the subsequent night out in Diss, are you? :buddies: :vblove: :uzi: :puke:

Those Scots maniacs on the bridge were harder to shift than Nicola Sturgeon's underpants and no less unattractive. Light infantry should NOT get a bonus for open order when in hard cover, and men wearing skirts should be on a minus one anyway.

I noticed that Purps didn't stay for the evening feed & also that there was a sausage fest on at nearby Framlingham that very same weekend. I'm just saying ...

Tend to agree on the Lights & hard cover thing. And the skirts :-)

Another thing about the skirmishers............

If they're withing 30cm they stop line troops from reforming even though they're out of musket range and possibly even out of sight.

As far as the majority of eighteenth century conflicts go, I'd do away with specialist light troops and skirmishers all together. It's only really appropriate for the FIW and the AWI if we're being honest. Highland clansmen and Pandours could be classed as irregular militia, as well as being a bloody nuisance. But I think it's an anachronism to have them as "special forces", in the modern meaning of the phrase. There is always the "Imaginations" argument, but even if it is "fictional" should it not follow historical precedent, otherwise one could field Hanoverian Space Marines. Just my thoughts, not that I am biased against lowlife highland types sneaking around in open order and being a damned nuisance of course.

I've heard that about Framlingham.

Dave and Simon, and now you, have persuaded me that my two light infantry battalions are out of place in my 1745 army....at least, having 14% of all my infantry as 'light' is wrong. I'm working on a fix which doesn't involve any rebasing. I also have too much cavalry........but let's not go there just now.
