Are you winning despite the vagaries?
Despite my best efforts I managed to be in second place after the first couple of months. I lost a couple of winnable games by trying to fight when running away would have served me better. I still haven't figured out how to beat Undead as they have all the aces in the magic phase. Most of us are limited to level 1 or 2 wizards but Undead can have a level 4 wizard as the general and he gets to choose which spells to take rather than a random spell from the deck. The key to win is to kill the general and watch the army fall apart but they refuse to come out.

One of the players is a former tech author, (well two if I include myself)and he loves getting bitter and twisted about what the rules meant to say and what the words actually mean. Strangely enough he plays Dwarves.

I remember playing WFB against undead and their magic (although I can't remember if it was 3rd, 4th, 5th or a hybrid). IIRC the tactic people attempted most was hard hitting assassination squad units to take out the general.

That's the plan, trouble is that Dafydd hides his general in a unit of mummies. Those sods are as hard as nails. That is where Bubbles will come in. Mummies are very susceptible to fire and hydras are even more fiery than dragons.

D and D players will recall that mummies are very flammable; except for the variant that some cunning DM thought up which used asbestos bandages...

Looking forward to seeing those when I get home! Bloody work computer always blocks linked images... :hair:

I got the Mamelukes as well when they came out, but haven't painted them yet.

Updated those points. Suppose I better paint some of my stuff... Only couple of figures I've done were started before Christmas so don't count...

It's doing the rounds. Try some ointment.
