Re: Tales from Pendawar
Those are really lovely!
Re: Tales from Pendawar
I've completed a unit of Sepoy cavalry for the Tales from Pendawar project. These are from AW Miniatures and I have to confess not the best figures I've had under the brush. The only alternative seemed to be from Redoubt Enterprises and I didn't fancy chancing their mail order given comments I've seen elsewhere. More on the blog as usual if you are more than a passing spectator...

Re: Tales from Pendawar
Also, Redoubt's "Wellington in India" range figures are actually HUGE (not "heroic" - absolutely massive), so you probably dodged a bullet on two levels there. As you say, AWM not great, but you've certainly made a decent job of them.

I quite like the character of those cavalry sculpts
Studio Miniatures might well have some useful figures for you too, although I lose track of which of Stuarts ranges are currently in production and which are being rested while (I presume) they await new moulds etc...

Re: Tales from Pendawar
This is a great idea as it seems you can just about use any H&M figure you like!
Re: Tales from Pendawar
To give an idea of the figures from different manufacturers as you'd see them on the tabletop battlefield at playing distance. In the foreground are Perry Miniatures infantry; back left Trent Miniatures British Light Dragoons; back right are the AW Miniatures Sepoys. Out of interest the building is a venerable Hovels 25mm building. To me they all work just fine together in a game setting.

Three AW Miniatures Sepoy cavalry to represent the Army of Pendawar's CinC Body Guards. I've sourced an officer figure from Trent Miniatures and he's next in line for the brush when I finish my last Sepoy infantry regiment. The uniform is based on that of the Java Volunteers.

Re: Tales from Pendawar
As always David you have created an interesting unit, but not sure if those figures justify your efforts. Did you not consider using the Foundry "Native Cavalry" figure as a starting point, with a bit of Green Stuff work?

Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.
Re: Tales from Pendawar
Interesting idea Tim, were it not for the fact that when it comes to green stuff, unlike Matt, I am all thumbs! And even they are not much use!Tim Hall wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 3:48 pm Did you not consider using the Foundry "Native Cavalry" figure as a starting point, with a bit of Green Stuff work?https://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collect ... 30-hussars
