You get around the elephant mounted guns spooking horses by mounting your riders on elephants as well!

I thought that, according to the first post, peoples armies were going to be limited to three or four Brigades. But now I see armies of 8 Brigades being mooted!

Jeremy wrote: Fri Dec 31, 2021 5:22 pm Thanks EB. I’ll drop the light horse and just have one brigade of horse. I’ll drop the light gun on the horse as well (assuming your rules don’t have horse guns?)
We've decided to keep the game simple, so no horse artillery.

Good point.

However, we need to have a handle on troop availability so we can organise roughly equal numbers for everyone - I'm assuming people with huge armies don't mind sharing!

But you're right of course, numbers will probably need to be clipped but, thus far, I've only asked for ball park figures. Dave and I won't be making any final decisions for a while.

Thank you for that - it's an important point.

I am working on the principle that no matter how many elephants I bring, 4 brigades at the most, and more likely 3 brigades will be my forces. Excess goes to people without tricornes of their own.

My contribution isn't large but happy to share with anyone with no 18th century stuff 😀

Don't let all that Enlightenment bullshit fool you - welcome to proliferation, 18th Century style.

Purps is lending me some Russians so I should be able to do the 3 brigade standard now. This is of course dependent on Purps memory and organisational capability ......
