Nic (Eureka) did once offer me an 18mm AB army for the strides i was wearing... at a wargames convention.
Incidentally, in an example of synchronicity, not long after I moved to Canberra we became friends with Denise who turned out to have been an old family friend of Nic's in the UK. Then we moved house and discovered that Nic's name was scrawled in pen on the electricity meter cover panel ? Almost as freaky as good friends from Oz walking into the restaurant we were at.. in Paris...
If you were a novelist, you couldn't get away with writing this stuff, but real life has no such restrictions.

What are people doing for the 'not' Roman armies? I can't find better figures than the Crusader Celts at the minute. Jeremy has unsold me Victrix. I'd prefer metal anyway. I'd be most inclined to Celts/Gauls. With a bit of leeway I'm guessing you can interchange the Britons and Gauls.

I’ve got Britons as I think they’re the most ‘fun’ army to field, I can field all the variations and they all play quite differently. I also have enough variant to make Gauls as well. I’ve played German forces, but prefer Celts

Army wise VB? The Briton list I like has two groups of 10 Nobles in chariots (4 chariots), 3 groups of standard Celts (30 figures), 6 light cavalry and 6 slingers.
The Gauls I’d play is 2 groups of noble cavalry (so a bit more heavily armoured than the British cavalry), a group of 10 Nobles, two groups warriors, a group of fanatics and some slingers
If you’re not too anal, you can use the same infantry, and even cavalry I’d guess. The two armies however fight completely differently
