One club I never went to. With Greys you were always guarenteed a shag with some highly experienced old spunker. There was also the Mayfair, my mates dad told us about grab a granny night. So off we went and got picked up by a couple of ladies from Winlaton Mill. Happy days.Idols FTW.

Must point out, a winlaton mill ‘granny’ can be under 30.
I mean don’t get me wrong, she will still look 60.

Duly cancelled, following hopeful attendees discussion & decision. Very sad. But roll on next year.

I've just been sorting my very provisional race and mountain bike calendar for 2021. A Christmas quiet at work time tradition. I'm expecting everything to continue being cancelled long into 2021 but wondered if there was a collective will to put a 2nd Ayton Date in yet?

Sadly I think we can all agree that an event in May is now out of the question, the vaccine roll out will not be complete by any stretch of the imagination, and we may even be heading for yet anther major lockdown before Spring is out. Not to mention that we are also standing on the edge of the abyss that is the Tory version of Brexit, after the many years of fannying about with it, Gods alone know what chaos is going to come. The important thing is, that those attending any such event will want to feel safe in doing so.tim.w wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 3:06 pm I've just been sorting my very provisional race and mountain bike calendar for 2021. I have given a lot of thought to this, although I am yet to discuss it in person with young Peeler, but I have taken a couple of soundings, and I would propose the possibility of a four day event, a long weekend if you will, arriving on Thursday and setting up, and then playing through to Monday evening, departures on Monday eve or Tuesday morning. This would enable us to play at least two big games, or have several one day games, or even one long four day game. And people who cannot commit to all four days could "visit" for a couple of days. But it might give us the opportunity to have our postponed 10th anniversary.
I was thinking that early September might be a more practical time to plan for, as it would allow nine months to see how things are going. Now a vaccine is entering the battlefield, the chances are much improved to allow us to go ahead. Obviously all planning is now subject to the vagaries of the national situation, but I don't believe it is foolishly optimistic to think that things will have got somewhat better by then.
So that is the extent of my thinking so far.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

I remain optimistic that we will be gaming in Ayton over the first May Bank Holiday.
Which is probably madness.
But in any case, I'm well on board for a four day event in September, because it's a brilliant idea. Just make sure it doesn't clash with the school holiday.

And us Blow-ins have no idea whether Ayton even exists... semi-mythical in nature it is...

Yes, I'm up for whatever whenever, because my work & social calendar is fairly empty at the moment. Except the end of September, beginning of October.
