This is right in the heart of, for want of another term, my period.

I'm afraid I have entirely the wrong attitude these days.

I will add some Strelets to the collection because it would be rude not to. The French marching figure is rather nice, but they'll probably be Dutch troops, because I need some of them.

I'll trawl through the Pike and Shot Society books (not all Mr Hall's work by the way) or those of Messrs Hilton, Grant and Sapherson's (all rather lovely in their way) looking for pretty flag and facing combinations and that's it. Job done.......save for the painting bit of course.

There are a few on the previous page.

There are dozens, if not hundreds of images on Pinterest.........and every no and then you can actually discover where the image was taken from.

I have copies of the original Grant books.........which you or Tim can have for a gazillion squid if you want them. Although, in truth, they are rather out of date, and don't have any detail of flags.

Thank you for the offer, but I have a couple of Grant books, bought from Caliver. Not sure if they are WSS or Marlburian though... I'll have to look.

Slightly confused by references to Peter Hall. I’ve got the Robert Hall book on flags and uniforms of French infantry from the P&S - so beautiful that I bought quite a few GMB flags on the strength of it and a lot of 28mm WoSS. Some of which are being painted now.
20mm is for WW2 and perverts.
