When I was a youngster we turned over a Subbuteo Football pitch and used that. When I grew up, and started wearing long trousers, I made my own using an offcut of green dralon fabric I bought from Abergavenny market. I then highlighted and sprayed with paint.

I know someone who used a second snooker table baize which was heavily sprayed.

Have had a look at the print-your-own sites thanks for the suggestions. They arent actually much cheaper than the wargaming specific ones strangely and do present the problem of finding a high res picture that is suitable.

ts looking like Cigar Box is the way even though you have to get it past Her Majesties Reavers and Cutthroats who will doubtless unwrap it, trample it, use it to wipe their arse and then add a £50 indiscriminate charge when it gets sent onward a month or so later,

basically cigar box style in the UK would do me. I may want to order from them anyway though to get a matching extension to my desert mat
