Yes, but as a true artist, surely you've got another you've been doing since then that's still a work in progress after two decades?Atheling_2006 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 5:43 pm I don't know about being a "proper artist". The last real painting I finished was 22 years ago!

Yeah, in a way. but there are way, way better miniatures painters out there then me. One of my mates, well three mates to be exact, are all much further up ladder IMHO. Of course, it's subjective so one mans poison and all that.BaronVonWreckedoften wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 7:26 pmYes, but as a true artist, surely you've got another you've been doing since then that's still a work in progress after two decades?Atheling_2006 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 5:43 pm I don't know about being a "proper artist". BTW, I really do appreciate the support. It's always encouraging.

Thanks ShahbahrazShahbahraz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 10:13 pm Oh those are just lovely. I suspect lots of folk will be looking at those with envy.
a lot of painting is actually down to the efforts of the sculptor too and Adam has done a superb job at getting the right level of detail in to make them look 'Eastern Roman' and stand out when compared to some other Late roman ranges. I love the Gripping Beast stuff, the Footsore stuff, the Foundry stuff too. It's actually my second Justinian/Heraclian army, the last one being made up of a huge mix of Gripping Beast mini's- which I sold and yeah, I regret it

The good thing is that you didn't need to paint the front of the standard bearer. Clever that.
