Airfix suspends exports due to brexit confysion.

I thought Porn Hub hosted our servers?
Re: Airfix suspends exports due to brexit confysion.
So can we still get Romanian whores eating ice cream on our Internet searches? Asking for a friend, obviously.
This trade thing - it'll be whatever it'll be, but for those worrying that we'll lose all our 50% trade with the Eu, I think you doth fret too much. We can still trade, without a trade deal, it just isn't as frictionless. Our biggest trade partner, by country, is the USA, with whom we don't have a trade deal. A lot of that is services, to be fair.
Anyway, apart from the actual Airfix news, which I doubt will have much effect, apart from hopefully a surge of orders in January, I'd say we could maybe avoid the politics and I'm sure we'll all be OK in the long run. Or shortish run, for those of us who can't run too far.

They are not the only company waiting on information and suspending orders though.
And that 50% of your trade to the eu block, at WTO rates is now 27% more expensive at a stroke.
And we have no US trade deal, and now, no chance of getting one.
In 10 years time it will have equalised out, but the next 3 or 4 months, on top of covid, could be very hairy.

Peeler's post is sensible and insightful.
Could somebody pop round and tell him that his account has been hacked.

You mean the Romanian whores part Dave?
I forgot to mention, with the pound dropping against the euro, makes our exports cheaper, some compensation for varying tariffs.

Except that a lot of our finished products rely on components sourced from the EU. And the biggest obstacles are non tariff barriers. But all these arguments have been rehearsed elsewhere.
I will take the word of all the businesses who say production will not be viable, and you can be sure they will have factored in the fall in the pound.

We have a trade deal with the US, up until 1st January through the EU trading bloc. After that we don’t have a deal until we negotiate one. Our biggest trade partner is the EU trading bloc - the ‘country’ limitation is a red herring:

As wargamers, our biggest consolation in two weeks time will be that most of the production in the Wargames industry is based in the UK. Our biggest worry will be how much of that industry relies on exports for its profit margin.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

Worse than that LT the mould blanks come from germany, as does the casting metals and resins. So the falling pound means the raw materials cost more, and you will pay duty to bring them in and eu customers will pay duty to receive the finished product.
And no US trade deal, already stated, due to unilateral changes in a bilateral treaty, making us an unreliable treaty partner.
As I said, 10 years time it will have levelled off, until then, omnishambles.

True, Romanian whores may get more expensive. We may have to revert to local ones instead. Mind you, there are already plenty of Romanians here, so maybe no need to import any more.
The Eu doesn't have a trade deal with the USA or China, despite them being their first & second biggest trading partners, though they do have some minor agreements. They can't agree on an actual deal so far, probably there's much too much to argue about, like red herring fishing quotas and so on. (Hoho!) Anyways, as someone said above, it'll all even out to wherever it's going to be sometime soon. Apparently the UK has replicated most of our deals made via the Eu - except the actual Eu one, that is. We'll just have to wait & see, much like Airfix is doing I suppose. Time will tell. Though I don't think me & Mrs P will holiday in Europe this winter, we may just stay local. Very local. Like in our house. Luckily, we've got two spare rooms we can visit.
