I've seen a similar thing at a re enactment with a Norman Horseman getting swept from the saddle by a Daneaxe wielding English Huscarl.

Yes, but you're still nowhere near the eye-watering costs associated with keeping 4 horses!

That must be horrendous. My wife kept two horses in SA. That was eye watering enough!
