Ken, if you are coming to Ayton next year, that would be great. And if you are bringing your Mexicans, are you still up for a trade or deal of some sort? I am assuming that you haven't re-armed them all with pikes and muskets of course.

I am very tempted by some of the figures available at the 1670-80 end of the pike and shot era, but they might be too late. As I understand it from our discussions, I know you don't want to go much earlier than 30 Years War. Any early thoughts on rules, just in case I need to buy a copy of "Pike and Shotte"?

At the moment I plan to use Pikeman's Lament for the Saturday games and Pike and Shotte for the Sunday game.

I am not fixed on how early/late the time frame should be, although I'd sort of got it in my head that it would start with the beginning of the Thirty Years War and end with the introduction of the plug bayonet. If that's too prescriptive I'd be happy to change.

Perfect, the 1672's are pre plug bayonet, so muskets in wings with pikes in the csntre.
