My regular opponent (and the only other gamer in the village) had a fire in his house 4-5 years ago when his dishwasher "sparked into life" unexpectedly in the middle of the night. He had to rent a house a few miles away for over a year whilst the insurers' tradesmen took their sweet bloody time about restoring the interior design/furnishings - most of the damage was caused by an over-zealous fire crew - and getting rid of the smell. It was only a two-up, two-down, but he reckoned they could have renovated Buck House faster. He did get a new bathroom and kitchen out of it though, so a perfect wargames room is not out of the question.....

A quick update. The ground floor is now being cleared out completely, the floorboards upstairs are groaning under the weight of all the crap shifted there. But we are fine. Enjoyed a helping visit from EB over the weekend. He was a real trooper and a great help shifting all the stuff.
See you all soon I hope.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.
Just seen this Tim, that's really awful and I'm very sorry you've been affected like this.
I hope the clean up and recovery goes smoothly and quickly, and that you can still make planned get-togethers.
All the best.

Cheers dude. November is out of the window, but I am hoping very much to attend in May.

Well done to all involved - just make sure you counted all the stuff EB "shifted".....
