The guy who did SoBH has just released a mass battle set of rules using the same engine. I believe it works on a gridded cloth like To the Strongest

That Buff is my dream set, high hopes for this. It was one of the things I loved about Hordes of the things, was the weird and wonderful lists at the back!

sword and spear fantasy seems quite good and is totally independent. I might use it when i (eventually) do 6mm Glorantha. Plus Warhammer 2ed is pretty freeform and before it went all corporate

Yes, that and the ability to create any army from the troop types.
That new set does look interesting.

I downloaded it last night. It looks pretty good so far. I like the idea that army lists are going to be added as individual docs and as updates on the spreadsheet to avoid new editions of the core rules.
