Well, it’s not been a bad day. Beer at the Chocolate Festival and then back home for a proper Saffer braai with home made boerewors, pork rashers, lamb chops, mielies and salad. And lashings of beer and Pinot Grigio. Weather was glorious and we had to wear shorts and t-shirts.
Saffers in shorts and tee shirts. What were the locals doing? Cavorting naked under the garden hose?

So a very pleasant Salute weekend. Played briefly in the Lardy game, met Dave and made my bag lighter because I gave him my diecast toys, Met Iain (for 30 seconds because he’s got other friends now) who made my bag heavier by donating a fucking huge bag of vintage ancients (thank you !), picked up a ton of figures for Brendan and made my bag doubly heavy, bought Picketts Charge and Featherstones Airborne Wargaming, went to see Clockwork Orange, went to Churchill War Rooms, bought a book about Saratoga. Knackered now so just a glass of wine and The Archers this evening...

I wonder what extra stuff Nic put in, because it shouldn't have been that heavy (sorry about that!).
OK, dead curious - what was the title of the Saratoga book?

maybe it wasnt that heavy - just combined with the huge parcel Iain handed me it then made my bag reassuringly heavy. I didnt pick them up till towards the end so no hardship was caused to my skeletal frame
The Saratoga Campaign , Griswold & Linebaugh editors. Seems quite archeology based. This is where you tell me it’s shit

Not at all - never come across it before, in fact. I'd be quite interested in your views on it.
