I have never played a competition wargame, nor will I ever play one.
This hobby is far too interesting to bore oneself and others pretending you are a good general .
When putting on a demonsration wargame I have made up answers and impossible to find facts to confuse the ill manered expert who's point's out the dust on the tracks of your WW2 tanks is the wrong dust or the paint is the wrong shade .

Later in turn 1 he RPG's my pick up.
Just a preventative and we were nervous about the amount of stuff heading our way
