I started with TAG figures as they had Army discounts and 10% off for 1 year if you 'joined' the club. The figures are nicely sculpted and painter friendly. I added Front Rank and Founder WoftheR figures, Warlord, Casting Rooms Miniatures and Dixon while Phil used Perry figures, plastic and metal, as well. Hope that helps.

Well, Penda has a nice-looking selection, so it would be rude not to ask him; and Valleyboy.

Personally, I like Steel Fist, Foundry - and Casting Room - TAG, Eureka, Perry (metal and plastic), Warlord (ditto), even Old Glory (one of their better ranges), and Mirliton (close to Foundry, which with TAG are near the bottom, height-wise, but have some uniquely Italian types). Just off the top of my head....

There's quite a range on offer isn't there and I have quite a mix though no TAG figures (yet)

For Landsknecht my favourites are Artizan though these are too chunky for some - nice and easy to paint
Steelfist are probably more classy but I think their cost precludes a large collection. I don't have any Foundry, I do like them but I went down other routes because of cost and these were Warlord and Old Glory, the latter being good value

Gendarmes - Wargames Foundry, Steel Fist and Eureka are all lovely, with probably the former being post useable

Perry do a nice range of cavalry like mounted arquebusiers, stradiots and crossbows

For Swiss - I have Artizan, nowdays if I needed more I would add Perry

Perry do a some nice Italians and I think adapting some of the plastic European infantry by adding swiss or Italian heads will improve utility - great for missile troops and the Warlord offerings are also really good - missile troops and great sword

Spanish - have just started with the new Artizan range

Other cavalry - casting room - bought a pile at Christmas to use as Spanish lights, jinettes, and heavy horse but have not painted them yet, I like the look but the horses are my favourites

Not sure how to use Perry plastic Knights and light cavalry yet

Hopefully Darrell will give you more ideas

I haven't really said anything about Tag's extensive range - this is because of a lack of familiarity on my part not a lock of appreciation and hope to get some soon

No problem. I had forgotten about Steel Fist and don't have any Old Glory myself.
