I am one of EB Dremel disciplines.

Following his sage words I got a Dremel 3000 and a flexi drive. I have used it to clean up and grind off the flash of my classic Napoleonics which can be quite extensive on both original and recast figures.

It's a thumbs up from me.

What do you use the flexidrive for?

And a thumbs up (though not anywhere rude) from me. I've been using mine more and more. I went for a 4000 (more variable on speed) with the flexi shaft. And get a chuck as well.

And I'll probably get one of the stands as well soon as it is much more convenient.

Mention EB's name when you order it. I think he gets commission...

Oh, sorry ZB, I thought you were joking.

I have a 4000. A flexidrive and the chuck accessory are invaluable, and the stand is the icing on the cake. There is one feature that I would like to have which, as far as I know, no Dremel has, i.e. a remote on/off switch for when using the flexidrive. It's just an itsy bitsy teeny weeny issue. I understand that similar Proxxon tools do have such a feature as an accessory, and I think you can fit your own chuck, but I have no experience of using them.

I'm not on commission. I wish I were.

Thanks all, looks like a 4000 and some bits and bobs then. I was a bit dubious about a flexi drive but you all seem to be positive about them so I'll give one a go. I'll miss old archie but it is time to power up.

When you use the flexidrive, ZB, you'll make life easier for yourself if you can support the main tool so that the flexidrive doesn't work at too sharp an angle. I use the Dremel stand, but that's a bit of a luxury.

This is not at all funny as i'm trying to cut back on purchases and go neutral and this sounds like something I might go for! (Especially as I have a variety of bits and pieces which already fit after Tims ACW Ayton game and our old Dr Moreau show game).
Although I may free up some cash by selling off my VBCW force after Ayton!!
