Always a danger of knowing too much about a period in many ways.

I have purchased Germans. I don't think they are as tactically interesting as Britons, but I wanted to keep it simple to start with. And they present a real challenge.

What are people doing for the 'not' Roman armies? I can't find better figures than the Crusader Celts at the minute. Jeremy has unsold me Victrix. I'd prefer metal anyway. I'd be most inclined to Celts/Gauls. With a bit of leeway I'm guessing you can interchange the Britons and Gauls.
If you were going to be picky, the Britons used woad, the Gauls didn't, Limewashing of hair for the Britons etc.
And the Victrix stuff I have (Republican Roman & Spanish) is very robust.

It's a point of difference - otherwise you would have Barbarian lists like.. warriors.. 1 to many, slingers 0 to many, Chariots, your guess is as good as mine.. fanatics? Whatever...
Caesar did note how the southern British tribes chariots gave him no end of trouble

The Stewarts seem to have had the same problem.

Wasn't George loading his up with all his possessions and family when Charlie was marching to Derby?

Hannoverian chariots would be great. A brown bess man and a sabre man each. You might even give them a swivel gun.

The lists allow you to make whatever other forces you like. Those provided are merely examples.

True dat, the lists are never compulsory and certainly not for this period.
I’ve been sorting out my Foundry Germans - 13 bases of warriors, 4 bases of cavalry, 1 base of skirmishers, enough Leaders (but I’ll always add a few more if I find some good figures), enough Shock markers and plenty of Wailing Women. All painted and good to go. What I do need to find is a German wagon and a musician.
The Romans have enough Legionaries to provide opposition + a Mule Train, musicians, valiant vexillariusess and at least 4 Emperors. What I do need are a Medic, an Engineers group and Shock markers. Some nice Deployment Markers would be........nice.
And what I really need is a wargames show to go to so I can browse the trade stands
