WW2 Weekend - 8th June 2019
Re: WW2 Weekend - 8th June 2019
No..... I’ve got that handled. Norm is coming round to mine on Friday for dinner. I can’t bare the thought of him being let loose in Bury on a Friday night. I still need to live there after they extradite him back to Newcastle.

Don't they have good lynch mobs in Bury then?
Re: WW2 Weekend - 8th June 2019
That’s what I’m worried about. Them at my door after Norm’s Friday Night Out
Re: WW2 Weekend - 8th June 2019
Weather definitely doesn’t look like it’s playing ball this weekend. So we’re off to the Chinese followed by drinks at a craft beer pub at the old ELR station, platform 2.

German Briefing:
It is several weeks after D-Day, and the Britishers are pushing in force through Normandy. After a series of running battles for several days, your tired and depleted force have retreated to the town of Lardonne. However, there is no rest there as HQ informs you of a large British force en-route to capture the town for its strategic position. Knowing it cannot be held, you have been tasked with delaying the Britishers and destroying the only bridge into town, thus giving the rest of the Fuhrers forces a chance to regroup for a vital counterattack
You must however not sacrifice your men and they must be withdrawn over the bridge before it is destroyed by your engineers
Victory:
You lose the Game if the British capture the Bridge
British Briefing:
Due to administrative delays, the Vauxhall Cavaliers were unable to take part in the D-Day landings, much to the chagrin of Captain Dave ‘kick em innafork’ Hall. One of a long line of soldiers, Captain Hall is determined to do the family proud and the slight of not being in the front line of battle is already a serious insult to him and his family.
As your company is fresh, you have been tasked with capturing the town of Lardonne from a depleted and exhausted German force who are currently occupying it. The town is of vital strategic importance and must be taken with all haste before it can be reinforced.
Preliminary scouting shows what appears to be German engineers setting demolitions under the bridge. They must not be allowed to blow the bridge – should this happen, Captain Hall will soon be on a slow boat back to Old Blighty, and he will have to look his Nanna in the eye and tell her he failed. Lesser men have been known to flee to America rather than suffer this fate.
Victory:
You lose the Game if the Germans blow the Bridge
Pics of the table will follow tonight/tomorrow once I finish setting it up.
