It’s only a few weeks to Ayton, so what better time to start a new project? My BUM still needs filling out, but I couldn’t be arsed at the minute.

I started these Warlord Games plastic Naps French earlier this week. Wanted to try some speed painting techniques that didn’t look too shit, as well as to try and find a suitable blue. Still need to flock and put a flag on them. And paint another 24 for this unit alone. Not my best work, but happy with the result. If I can do 12 a week, hopefully I’ll finish the army before I die.....

Lovely artillery, Mark. Love the figures.

Cracking stuff Jez. Good luck with the new project. Don't neglect your BUM though...

Are you sure about that blue? :)

Nice bit of speed painting, although at 1:20 you’re going to need all the speed you can get!

If I might offer one suggestion - forget the eyes. It takes too long, a simple wash will generally work and they currently all look shocked, shocked I say, to find out there’s fighting taking place on this battlefield!

Yeah, I thought the same when I took the pic. I’ll probably put a wash over as you suggest.

Reckon you've got the blue dead right.

Agree on the eyes - and I commend you on your progress. I've managed maybe 8 figures total for my aspirational SP2 project.

Thanks chaps. I’ve put a wash on the eyes, and they aren’t as startling any more. It’s also a curse of these new modern phone cameras. They pick up so much detail that the eye (well my tired old eye) doesn’t see. From a foot away, the eyes look normal.

Thanks Zen. It’s a Vallejo game colour (I’ll send the specifics when I get home) with a Vallejo sepia wash
