I think the biggest problem will be deciding on the size, organisation and basing of units. I'd put money on there being vastly different ideas on that sort of thing.
Always a thorny proposition. Were I to field a pike and shot army I was thinking of going the dioramic, irregular shaped base route favoured by Penda in his Italian Wars collection for preference. Any set of rules that gets anal about base sizes etc loses my interest and support immediately.

My mum would have had real problems with the ECW. Politically she would have been a parliamentarian, but she was a die hard royalist.
She would have fit in well with Hopton, Waller and Fairfax then....

I would be basing singuarly and using movement trays if I were to be interested and I'm not saying I am. It would just give me a Pikepersons Lament option should I want it. Though they seem to base in threes on round bases in the book, not that basing matters much.

That's the 1,2,3 basing 'system where each six figures is based on one single, one duo and one three figure base.

I really don't like the look of the 1-2-3 basing

It can work when using troops who look good in close order, like spearmen.

We are of a mind.

I read about that 1-2-3 thing. It sounds like it's reinventing stuff we did back in the seventies.

I've got a few dozen 28mm already done on single bases, which I wouldn't change but can sabot up for formed units. I have a lot more to paint. Mine are done for imagi-nations but it's such a colourful and varied period that anything goes really.
Am I on the right lines to join in with this? I've missed a few days of posts while moving house.
