Absolutely the right lines Dave, it’s ages away but sabot bases and imagi seems matches what I’ll do.
For wargames and wargamers

Only if you have used steel pins for the pikes, otherwise the cheese will make them bend.
Funnily enough I was thinking about your 17th century Medetians today and wondering where you were.World2dave wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 6:14 pm I've got a few dozen 28mm already done on single bases, which I wouldn't change but can sabot up for formed units. I have a lot more to paint. Mine are done for imagi-nations but it's such a colourful and varied period that anything goes really.
Am I on the right lines to join in with this? I've missed a few days of posts while moving house.
Well of course we are, but on everything? The Ted Rogers basing system is so 1970's, I can remember doing it, so tedious.Essex Boy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 5:37 pmWe are of a mind.Tim Hall wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 1:58 pmAlways a thorny proposition. Were I to field a pike and shot army I was thinking of going the dioramic, irregular shaped base route favoured by Penda in his Italian Wars collection for preference. Any set of rules that gets anal about base sizes etc loses my interest and support immediately.
Tish! You youngsters. I ask you.
Of course you are.......open order pike blocks. What's not to like?World2dave wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 6:14 pm I've got a few dozen 28mm already done on single bases, which I wouldn't change but can sabot up for formed units. Most things, but not everything. For instance, for a youthful misdemeanour I prefer to render a stern talking to rather than a lynching.Tim Hall wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 7:19 pmWell of course we are, but on everything?
