I had quite a long chat with the Sarissa people when I was at the Games Expo thing. Apparently the MDF squares do warp when one side is made overly wet, but sealing both sides helps prevent it.
What did surprise me is that, according to the chap I spoke to, MDF becomes pliable when heated. So, leave a warped board in the sun, or on a heat source, and its own weight will flatten it out.
Never heard that before.

I've never tried it because once you've got stuff glued to the top it seems a bit of a risk!
I would also resist the temptation to use an artificial heat source as MDF is choc full of nasty chemicals which overheating might liberate!

A trombone cleaner. £5 from Steiner music. What a bargain.
There are loads of questions that we are too scared to ask.

Errrrr yes, so does a lot of woods and plywood, make it hot and damp you can shape wood into ships! But mdf can be very picky stuff.

Do yourself a favour though and don't research the dangers of MDF or you'll be rebasing everything on something that won't embalm your lungs!

Never ever cut it with a proper breathing mask, even in small quantities, it is truly lethal stuff.

There’s a
veryimportant ‘out’ missing from that sentence

That's certainly my understanding.

Not so much a purchase, but a lovely gift from Iain to use in my WW2 scenarios. A bit of a touch up and some weathering and it will be brilliant. And just the right scale!
