So did Rocky get the full "iechyd da" treatment before being "bottled" (public bar) or "glassed" (saloon bar)?

What a combo - Aussies, big gun AND a flamethrower! Almost makes you feel sorry for the Japs.....
Almost.

History doesn't record and my grandfather only mentioned that he'd had a punch up with him. I didn't believe a bloody word of it, but it was actually recounted in 'Pembrokeshire History' Magazine a few years ago, which identified the pub (the Castle Inn, Maenclochog, which oddly enough is now owned by one of my ex-cadets, who knew nothing about the story when I asked her). Marciano actually fought and lost an official bout against another Home Guard soldier in the county, but as that was an Army match, it apparently doesn't count against his 'unbeaten' record!BaronVonWreckedoften wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 2:27 pmSo did Rocky get the full "iechyd da" treatment before being "bottled" (public bar) or "glassed" (saloon bar)?

Yeah, though like the Indian Churchills, they never got them into action. They would undoubtedly have been involved in Operation CORONET (invasion of Honshu) had that happened, though with two nukes clearing the beachhead ahead of the first wave, they might have been fairly redundant.BaronVonWreckedoften wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 2:30 pmWhat a combo - Aussies, big gun AND a flamethrower!
