I don't think that we're expecting 24 elephants to a battalion Fredd.
Yes we are

You are quite right, the Maharani has them in 18s, and for pulling her artillery and doing her weekly shop on.

We seem to have left the world of wargaming and entered the world of industrial-scale cookery.....

Looks like I pass the entrance exam for unit basing and organisation, that's a result. I've lost count of the amount of times I've rebased the damned things !

Horse units are one or two squadrons and are either heavy or light. The former will have an advantage over the latter in melee, and there may be some small advantages for armoured chaps or the very occasional chap with a lance. I’ve not yet decided what to do about dragoons but unless you have the dismounted figures, that won’t matter anyway.
Does a Horse Unit of two squadrons, each of the prerequisite frontage, count as one or two units? Asking for a friend

Should dragoons count as Heavy Horse when mounted and as any type of foot unit when dismounted (can't change once decided). Perhaps limit units dismounting to choose between light or skirmish and only those starting dismounted can be line?
