theres a FIW one up there. Maybe some other shooty ones too - havent had a chance to read it properly
For wargames and wargamers

I think we tried that one and gave up because the rules were unclear. Happy to give it another try though.goat major wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 11:28 am theres a FIW one up there. Maybe some other shooty ones too - havent had a chance to read it properly
I've got the Bridge too far game: Operation Market Garden game, never used which might fit the bill?https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame ... ket-gardenEssex Boy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 10:32 am
I've played M44 and I'm not a fan. I don't mind a simple game, but M44 is just on the wrong side of the line. I did wonder about C&C Ancients, but the money scares me. I think I inherited the Napoleonic version, but I've never actually checked to see if all the blocks are there......and the rules are missing!
I'm sure that an evening playing a game with a glass or two of g&t or port would be most splendid.......provided the energy levels held up.
Fourteen quid? I'm looking at the wrong price, right?Paul wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 1:15 pmI've got the Bridge too far game: Operation Market Garden game, never used which might fit the bill?https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame ... ket-gardenEssex Boy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 10:32 am

[EDIT: Although looking at the price it goes for, even 'mates rates' might be too expensive ]
Fer........fer........ferkin' hell. How much? Too rich for me.........maybe. Perhaps I'll treat myself.goat major wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 1:24 pm I like C&C Napoleonics. I really like C&C Tricorne AWI. The rules are fairly simple and abstract in places but lots of flavour (esp the AWI one). The price is..... high.
Not sure how simple M44 is or whether it was the C&C mechanics you didnt like or that particular implementation. I've never been a fan of its visuals - i dont like using figures in such an abstract way. But thats a personal thing.
hehe...way out of date, that link doesn't work According to the forum posts and recent Ebay stuff it's at least $50 (£37)Essex Boy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 4:23 pmFourteen quid?
