I confess the only thing I know about Surrey is the joke told to me by a Surrey girl, that Surrey girls didn't do orgies because of the number of thankyou letters they would have to write.

I shall make a note of that one! There's an old Etonian comic called Ivo Graham who describes how he was "slow off the mark" sexually, because he spent all his time at parties mentally composing the thank you letter he was going to write after; on a couple of occasions, he claims to have found a quiet room with a writing desk and completed it before leaving. Very popular with mums, not so much with their daughters.
