BP has solved a lot of the irregular movement by being able to use your senior commander to re-roll

That does suggest BP has some underlying problem. I can see senior commander’s being used to urge men to move on the pointy stick era, but by the time of bang sticks weren’t there junior commanders there to do that sort of thing, intrinsic to the unit, and the SC was used rather more exceptionally? Broad generalisation I know.

I think the movement friction is the best thing about the game.

I'm not a great fan. It's Warmaster basically and although it creates unpredictability it doesn't feel like it's grounded in any sort of reality.

The junior commander has a go, and if he duffs it, daddy steps in. Temper, in BP, daddy is a division commander

Definitely. I only play it because it’s what the club plays. I want to have a go at either General D’armee or Over the Hills

I think I quite like the GDA staff Officer mechanism. Would be interesting to see how it plays in reality
