I had some old airfix trucks of a similar tyle and I found that bulk filling with a 50/50 mix of sand and polyfilla followed by a milliput skin on the bottom worked well and left them identical in heft to resin trucks.

That sounds like a good idea about the sand/polyfilla mix, though I would be worried that an accidental knock would leave a truck shaped lump of polyfilla on the table...

I shall check out Wee Derek's capacity at Musselburgh in June.

Add some PVA to the mix for extra stickiness if you're worried abut that.

Whatever you do, do not use Purps recipe....

Good ideas both and I may combine the two as the wood should give the filler something to "grab".

Finished a Rubicon T34/76 I've had in the tank box a while. After watching some really useful youtube videos on painting tanks I've got a real tank mojo going. Sponge painting is the way forward!
