I see British humour is alive and well. - in the words of the great Billy Connolly, you should get an agent, why sit there handling yourself?
And it's ok, i'm just going to re-purpose some spares from the character pack and the command group.. And wait for the others to eventually arrive. I have plenty of tartan to paint, so by the time I get through that lot, we could well be back up and running.

Yeah, I usually go with a very fine one first, but I've broken them all...
Are you drilling with a power tool ? Because I use small (< 0.7 mm)bits manually in a pin vice and hardly ever break them. Also I go straight for the correct sized bit because I find pilot holes not necessary.
No, a hand-held one. I only had two tiny bits and broke them ages ago. Not got around to getting any more.
Buy small drill bits in 10s from your local tool merchant (Cromwell Tools for me). They are less than half the price of buying them individually from "specialist" modelling sites. so the cost of breaking one is insignificant.

Yeah, mine came from Expo Drills in Lamphey, but it's 20 miles away ('local') and I'll bother when I run out.

The only other shield-related puns I can think of are based on 'rim' and 'strap on', so I think I'll just leave it.

Quite right - you wouldn't want to be accused of lowering the tone.

Not actually a project yet but I am contemplating some latex roads. Are cloth strips, latex and sand all I need?
Will I save myself time if I use black liquid latex?
Fire away, there may be something useful in the midst of all the innuendo.
I hesitate to ask if I ought to use a thickening agent.
