Re: What's on your workbench?
So what have I been doing? Well.. I needed some more dirt roads, and a railway track:
I added in a level crossing.. not sure whether there should be fencing or warnings/barriers, so I left those off. And a set of buffers so the line can end neatly. I have some rail offcuts to add to this too.
And I was rummaging in the shed, (as you do) and realised that while I had painted up command markers (flags) for yellow and green for my 'Le Cedres' Sharp Practice AWI scenario, I hadn't painted the numbered chits, and that the original blue and red chits had seen some bleeding of colour and needed touching up. So now I have a decent set of markers painted and sealed in four colours.

Re: What's on your workbench?
Thanks chaps. Simple stuff, but I have promised myself I will do my best to produce decent quality tables, rather than 'make do'. As I can't afford to source all my terrain from real modellers, it's a DIY exercise and very time consuming. I also have a huge number of trees to make, so that's going to be the next biggie. Then backyards and gardens for a French town, and on to some 'Mediterranean' terrain.
I just wish that Royal Mail would actually drop off my last order from Flags of War, so I can get started on the 1745. I intended it as a small, neat, standalone set of figures as a single project. So I like the idea of having all the figures in hand and getting them all to a similar stage of prepped, etc before kicking off the painting.

Did you buy the track or make it?

Re: What's on your workbench?
Bought it second hand from a model railway shop in Kirriemuir. I think it was a £ per metre. HO/OO so slightly underscale for 28mm figures, but I'm just claiming it's the narrower European gauge
When lockdown is over, I'm going back to see if they have any dodgy 2nd hand rolling stock or bogeys I can use to add engines etc. I have some plasticard somewhere, and I am pretty sure I could scratchbuild a basic shunting engine if I can source the wheels.

Yep, I have seen those, but I'm thinking they will look pretty small compared to 28mm figs on bases?
And I am sure I can pick up a set of wheels for next to nothing 2nd hand in the shop, so it might be an interesting build anyway.
