Been preoccupied messing around with the Lotmaxx recently. But finally got back to spending some time doing actual painting. Sometimes it's hard to knock the shine off the CP, so another coat or two of the Dullcoat is going to be appleid to these after some touch ups.

And a test of how that first print takes paint. Thinking I'll need to add a little Mr. Surfacer or similar for the stucco. These .08mm layers are a bit too visible. But slapping a little slurry on these may be worth the trade off in print time, so may not adjust the settings for these pieces. Early days with the machine still, so still much to learn.

Very nice work on the skirmishers, and I reckon the wall looks grand. I would be slapping on a bit of slurry.

Those first two pics of the skirmishers are almost photographic in quality (ok, yes, I know, they ARE photographic, but you know what I mean); I particularly like the "dirty jeans" look of the trousers - much more realistic, IMO. Interesting how the dark blue "brightens" when the skirmishers are in the background in the third pic and they look more "toy soldierish".

And you definitely have the ridgy didge Union Blue there.

BVW - that last photo has a 'Vivid' contrast filter applied to highlight the print layer resolution. IRL, the Union boys are as above - none of that Bass Boat Blue for me....

First sizable print done -- took a couple days. Nearby, the still lost Sgt Harper.



And the machine ensconced in a temporary to semi-permanent home next to the beer tap, as it's going to be working 24/7 for the foreseeable future.

Thirsty business! Most of the home 3D printers I've seen are in some form of casing. Does dust become a problem without one?

Doesn't the object need baking after printing?

With the resin ones they normally need UV curing.

But that all happens in the machine from my understanding?
