How about “Hilaire had become infected with the Yellow Death and, being ignored by his fellow team members who preferred getting rat-arsed on inferior claret to helping their brave compatriot, hired a plane at his own expense to seek a cure in New York........”

I always liked the Genesis quote, "some of you are going to die; martyrs of course, for the freedom I shall provide".

Yeah, the knife is a good song. Hillaire would have to decamp a lot. He’s really camp.
