Here's a tip.
1. Full Cooperation
2. Wide-eyed innocence
3. Eagerness to improve
4. Blame lack of training, lack of oversight, undocumented procedures and poor coordination by managers.
5. Blame someone recently deceased/departed
6. If all else fails plead stress and temporarily reduced mental capacity

Not ‘temporarily’ reduced though is it?

The first piece of paperwork Randall submits will be a concise yet detailed description of what happened to the last Caduceus operative tasked with oversight of his documentation.

Oh dear where to start ?
The dockworker told the heroes about how he had seen a frightening, intelligient ape-man creature being unloaded into a warehouse at Red Hook docks from a ship, the MV Catalina that had probably come from Europe.
They decided the best course of action was to break in - a plan that could only be carried out by boat. Steering the craft deftly between huge cargo vessels they landed at the wharf and broke into the (very) lightly guarded warehouse. Certainly less well guarded than the floodlit and patrolled depot next door. Hilaire stayed with the boat because of the bandaged wound on his hand from a bed-related incident.
The break in was a combination was a smooth as you could imagine. Except for the kicked over coffee machine and 3 of the heroes falling through the wall. The warehouse was filled with Caduceus crates -food supplies, medical suppliers, pharmaceuticals etc. Paper work in the office revealed a fairly constant flow but also Karina discovered a shipping note despatching a crate containing "livestock" to the Meadham building. They were able to make their escape undetected, mainly because the sole security guard was practising his baseball pitching rather than being on guard duty. Yes…. For the first time ever in an RPG Norm had actually "called it".
Next day Christine was told by her old herbalist friend that a nice Italian man had chased off some bothersome Chinese gang members. The adventurers then met in their regular diner where they argued *for fucking hours* about how to break into the artefact store in Caduceus HQ. It is hard to remember whether simulated-gorilla-break-in was the most or least sensible suggestion.
In the end an after-hours operation took place. Expert lockpicker. Karina, using Dr Singh's patent vibro-pick managed to get through the lock and the team piled in leaving Christine on guard.
In the chaotic storeroom some interesting things were found * (*= stolen)
- A jade box 9"across carved with sigils holding 5 stone vials containing liquid
- A small box containing 3 elaborately carved stylised snakes with wings
- A strange arcane book printed in perhaps the 17th Century. Many annotations , scrawlings, pages added, pages removed, some written over, some with corrections. Mostly in English with some Latin. Also a note attached on Caduceus notepaper - "treat with extreme caution"
- The flame pistol from Bolivia
- The Annals of Mu from Bolivia -a magical history of the ancient serpent people. A first skim reading was carried out in the diner - causing a small degree of interest from the casual customers.
Thanks to Christine falling in to the arms of the lovely , smitten quatermaster, the gang escaped into the night.
In the morning it was back over to the Meadham building for the scheduled 10:00 am meeting in Room 13. Over the corridor Dr Goncalves emerges from room 10, Behind him is visible the Serpent Priestess Tyrannish and a number of Caduceus Doctors? Scientists? The team enter the briefing room and are soon joined by Joshua Meadham himself . A frail old man, escorted by his huge man-mountain manservant Canning (who Dr Singh may remember)
And finally the mission briefing is about to start……
