They've turned out really tasty, the Not-Harper figure is a beauty. Not sure about the geezer in the pelisse though. And the dog is pointing, but looks more like a hound. I would go with beagle markings, as he isn't hairy enough for a mutt.

Very nice, like the church, but why does everyone paint the Junior Rifle regt?

And I officially hate you, as this picture led me to pull out a whole two drawers of 28mm figures that had being lying happily unpainted in the shed of shame for some years. So far just started the block paint on a dozen or so groups of peninsular French, British, some Spanish guerrillas and two famous mythical riflemen. I just have to decide the facing colours for the British regiment.

Yeah. It seems to be the second most popular facing colour after blue. I am having to look up some helpful illustrations though as it's been a long time since I opened a Funcken book. And it is a hard colour to paint.
I also have a few Highlanders (Victrix) which are lovely figures, but I am now checking out which tartan to use.

I was talking about in the context of the books. But yes, yellow and buff were both popular

Government sett is a good starting point, then add the appropriate regimental overstripe - I think only the 79th had a fundamentally different base colour.
As regards yellow facings, start with a yellow ochre base (I think it's called Naples Yellow, or a similar Italian name) and then highlight with the bright version - much simpler and gives a better finish.
