What are people buying?
Re: What are people buying?
I do like the TCHAE concept in that veteran troops are likely to be less aggressive than green troops as they’ve been around and know the ropes.

Or are less likely to edge away, just because there is fire happening. So the enemy is also worried about the return, where with greener troops they hope to disperse them before that.

well I suppose taking us back into wargaming history, Under WRG rules Irregular D units would be likely to run away or go impetuous whereas Reg A troops were unlikely to do either

Re: What are people buying?
Back when I was in the OTC I applied for P Company and we did a weekend pre-training orientation with some guys from the parachute regiment. One of the things he told us was that very little of what we would do would involve weapons, most people can shoot well enough given practice. The training was more about tactics, fitness and developing common sense to keep your head down unless you absolutely need to get stuck in. I have favoured the "your training level makes you a target" type rules ever since then.

On a related note, it drives me mad to watch Hollywood movies where supposed special forces move without overwatch, stand in clear view on the skyline, etc. Surely this is obvious?
