Disassemble completely. The needle doesn’t go in

I give it all a rinse user the tap and then disassemble and then put it in the cleaner. So much easier to clean a airbrush this way. And far quicker

Any particular model that you two technophiles recommend?

Not really, I just went for a nice cheap one, and it seems to work very well. Although I have no idea how long it will last. This thing has a standard 3 minute cleaning cycle that you can override if necessary.

Does this remove the need for the (mis)use of Dettol and other paint strippers? Thinking of using it to clean "painted" 15mm and 25mm figures.

(Actually, my wife is also keen to know the answer to this, as she holds the Amazon account and would love to buy me anything that removes the smell of Dettol from our garage.)

BvR, I don’t use it for stripping figures, just cleaning my airbrush.

I haven't tried using it to strip figures, but I believe you can do that. You might have to use something more than water as the liquid though.

I can’t see it stripping figures without some kind of solvent

You'd still need to use some kind of solvent to strip the paint but the ultrasonic will make it quicker. (Minutes not days)
