They were a highlight of many shows for me - used to love themBaronVonWreckedoften wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 2:19 pmBack in the late 70s/early 80s, a London club (the Old Guard?) used to put on Asterix games with what I suspect were 54mm (maybe bigger?) versions of these; I can recall at least two distinct games, of which the most memorable was a tavern brawl. The games were an absolute hoot - even if I did get typecast as Obelix.Shahbahraz wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 12:56 pm Just watched the TooFatLardies livecast about Infamy, Infamy. And remembered I have some of the old Metal Magic Asterix 25mm lurking in the shed. We need special rules for the magic potion.

Did you have the 'tache back then? If so, you must have been a shoo-in for Asterix!

I remember the game, played as the welsh pirate Dai Laffin.

Sorry young Tim, no free train set. When it arrived today it was only OO gauge but they hadn't even sent the version that I had selected. To add insult to injury they sell this version for £3 less. Anyway I'm claiming a refund.

Don't worry. I do now want to see some trains in the next shiny game though! Going to have a look myself.

Put in a daft low bid for a box of Zvezda Swedish and was surprised to win them.

Well done. I put in a number of bids for Corgi 1/50 diecasts and was surprised at the huge price variations, but didn't win any. I woudl have liked the Comet but that seems to go for silly money.
So I consoled myself by taking advantage of the Rubicon isolation discount, and getting three Shermans, some Sherman wading gear, a dozer blade and tank crew in their Pacific Steel deal.
This of course means I am going to have to paint up a USMC platoon, so it's off to the research material to figure out a platoon organisation, then I suspect 1st Corps will see some more of my cash.

I'm more in selling mode than buying. I turned down an offer of £20 for some Epic GW stuff but counter offered it for a bit more, no response and it's currently at £26 with nearly a week left.
