Just got a Late Roman army box from Plastic Soldier Company, made in their new "Ultracast" material. The flash is excessive and any attempt to file it off leaves a furry surface just like the old Airfix polythene figures. It is also very brittle and clipping figures off the sprue has resulted in several breakages. I dropped a cavalry figure on the kitchen floor and one of the forelegs snapped. I think I will put this down to experience and get some metal instead.
That sounds like the 'Restic' that Mantic use for some of their figures. The only way to clean it up is with a sharp knife, the X-Acto or Swann Morton ones which are hooked are really good for this.

Yeah, I've looked at those. The ultracast put me off. The 10mm WWII tanks look awful. Victrix have a gorgeous looking range of 12mm almost ready so those would be my go to, though I need WWII in another scale like I need Michelle to be preggo again right now. I can't see ultracast being popular.

Got myself a train set, this one will work nicely with 28mm figures. £12.99 from Home Bargains, not on their web site though so it's luck of the draw if you find one. There were 4 on Saturday but I got the last one in Chester today.
A perennial problem, zombies on the line

And it makes noises and has a flashing light... on a winner there.

I actually need one of those but with wagons not coaches - I see a lazy morning with google in my near future.

No, they're in the Government, same as always.

I'll have room for excess rolling stock if you have a surfit. I think that other configurations are available.

If you find one, let me know. It's a back burner project, but always there. I don't need track though, as I'm using HO. It is under scale, but adding a bed it works visually for me. And adding HO bogies is a trivial exercise.
