I nearly ran myself into a coronary climbing that bastard, because that the Septics immediately behind me could not be allowed to see one of this Island race pause, hesitate, slow down or break step.
I reached the top with my breath grating and pulse hammering in my temples...
Looked round...
The fuckers had taken a look, thought ‘screw that’, and not bothered.
I found the shady side and collapsed.
It was raining when #1 son and I climbed it in 2014. Didn't stop once on the way up, but by the time I'd got there, my attempts at breathing drowned out the tour guide of the group of Servicemen in front of us, as he gave what appeared to be a very cogent description of the battlefield.

When I went up there I had just spent 6 months climbing mountains at 4,000 metres. I went up the steps like a bloody Gazelle to the horrified and envious looks of the tourists. When viewing the photos my dad suggested that my observation that the walk south from LHS was too gentle to show on the wargames table might not have been quite on a par with that of the view of Johnny Crapaud.

Good thing you schlepped a couple of pies and a pint to the top or you might not have made it back.

I’m about concerned about the predilection some forum members have for climbing on top of a lions behind. No wonder they’re shagged afterwards.

I thought that happened when the lions climbed their mount.
No wonder grizz goes misty eyed whenever he sees puddy cats.

Is that your way of admitting that his farts were more impressive than yours?
