Which is why we’re up at 6-7am on a Saturday discussing this

I've ordered a new history of the Royal Artillery in NW Europe 1944-45, which looks interesting. Also some 15mm Napoleonic buildings from Total Battle Miniatures, who do a very nice Essling Granary-type building, Germanic churches and rather lovely town buildings. Looking forward to seeing those in the flesh.

Handy to have some targets for your Royal Artillery. When I finally become gainfully employed, I would like a ref for that and also for your mate's book about the commandos in Normandy.

Would be interested in the artillery book.
Can recommend Ben Kites Stout hearts, the 3 over the battlefield books, any of the Buckley books.

Would love to find an equivalent of the Kite book on the US and German forces.

It came out about three-five years ago. I can't remember the title, something like Death in the wheatfields or summat?

Oh yes, THAT book about the Commandos! :)

'The Waist-High Cornfield' (48 RM Cdo and the Battle of Rots). Yeah, that is a great book, though sadly only a very limited print-run. He did say that he was working on a general history of 48 Cdo, but I've not heard anything more.

Sorry, the Gunners book only covers up to the end of Aug 44, not 45. The title 'Gunners in Normandy' should have been an indicator...
