I stayed at Kings House once. Miserable place.
Nice walking though. I was expecting the Devil's Staircase to be a bit more of a challenge.

Yep. We came off Ben Starav one time in winter, and stomped into Kings House, and it was full of posers and fair weather walkers. Very different the last time I was there two years ago.

We arrived as the blizzard started. By morning the poor sods in their tents were digging themselves out.
The walkers and climbers were all great, the people who ran the hotel were complete turds.
All in all though, looking across a snow covered Rannock moor on a crystal clear morning...........
