There's a couple of other gingers in there, tucked away under hats. :) And the Lanchester needs to be more dusty I think, but is still a nice piece of kit. The Warlord model isn't a bad one.

And there are some rather nice pictures of pre-war ASH in solar topis, so I took some liberties and had the Lieutenant and a couple of the corporals hanging on to theirs. The thought of everyone in battle bowlers was just a bit boring. I also got a bit creative with the puggarees on the topis and tried to do an impression of the government tartan.

I have now printed off a Marmon-Herrington as well, so once that's added, I am going to call this platoon finished. (Insofar as any wargames force is ever 'finished'.) Now all I need is an opponent, and lockdown to ease to set up a Malaya game.

Airbrush is out to undercoat some GIs, some Italians and a bunch of vehicles... it's probably just as well I ran out of resin so I can catch up on the painting versus printing...

I recall reading somewhere that there was an Arab village in one of the R&R areas near Alexandria which was nicknamed "MacDonald" because of the plethora of red-haired, blue-eyed babies born there after a series of visits from 51HD.

I think that comes from Spike Milligan's War Diaries, talking about the town of Maknassy in Tunisia?

Currently working my way through a batch of Raven Banner Union troops in greatcoats, I have modelled them as Irish Brigade. Lovely little figures, well animated and detailed. Been meaning to reinforce the Brigade for some time. They form part of the batch of Union troops which are going to be the last figures for my big ACW collection. I shall then call that completed. And I mean it this time.
