I suspect you don't need to buy cards or tokens.
Is there a pdf available of the rules or does it only come physically with WI - couldn't see it on their website
https://www.wargamesillustrated.net/sho ... billhooks/
The PDF is free for digital subscribers. Cheaper to buy the mag than the rules alone.
Cheap deal here

There's a PDF available here (you have to choose it in 'Format'):

Edit: Buff beat me to it
The rules look strong enough to be translatable to Italian Wars, I'm looking at them for 1544 and there's a Farcebook group looking at variations.
But yes, you can easily put your own cards and tokens together. Personally I hate the acrylic tokens with anything except perhaps sci-fi, they just look too modern, so I'll used some paper prints for a play test and if the rules survive I'll make up a bunch of scenic bases for the tokens.

The tokens are held up in the pipeline.

We arrived as the blizzard started. By morning the poor sods in their tents were digging themselves out.
The walkers and climbers were all great, the people who ran the hotel were complete turds.
All in all though, looking across a snow covered Rannock moor on a crystal clear morning...........
Yep. Many years ago, when mountains were a lot emptier, a mate and myself did the ice walk around Ben Starav, Full kit, ice-axes, crampons, etc. Stripped to the waist as the reflected sunshine was so warm. Stopped and had a dram, looking West down 3000 feet into the sea loch,
We'd watched the only other climber some way behind us, who stopped, assembled a hang glider and launched himself off the side of the mountain. Couple of belts of a single malt, glorious sunshine, pristine white world, watching this guy soaring in the thermals. That's an experience I will carry for the rest of my days.

Ok, I put a bid in for the eBay auction, as I have been looking for a period set. And a cross between Lion Rampant and Sharp Practice sounds pretty good to me. (I don't mind the 'rampant' series, but they lacked a little bit of depth for my taste.)
