Am I hearing Freikorps? Or Pulp?

We tried a few games set in the Freikorps period using the Lardies 'If the Lord Saves Us' rules a couple of years back, but unfortunately, one of the participants was an enthusiastic 'win at all costs' sort, and managed to break the (admittedly weak) list rules to create an unbeatable monster composed exclusively of veteran stormtroopers supported by massed heavy machine guns. So we all decided to go play other things as it wasn't much fun for the rest of us with workers militias, and social democrats..

These days, I reckon you could extend the Chain of Command Spanish Civil War supplement backwards quite easily and get a good skirmishy game.

Why did you not use "Through the Mud and the Blood" - I would have thought that would give you something much closer to CoC than ITLSU?

I'd be interested in your thoughts on the George II book as the blurb on the linked site suggests the book has a lot on daily life, which I'm always interested in finding out more about as it wouldn't have changed much leading up to the AWI.

Freikorps. I have a liking for FIBUA-games, mainly because it lets me build dolls houses. The figures are bought but I’ve been havering over how to do the city - making a start on the roads might get me going, but they might easily lead me into France 1940 with only a slight push.

I’ve tried all three Lardies options in a similar time period, RCW, and all have their advantages, with a little tailoring. Triumph and Tragedy also works quite well and it’s my current thinking.

But.......this is conjectural. I have a WotR project on the go, a fantasy project bubbling away and today’s ‘oh shiny’ moment was Indian Mutiny. Who knows what tomorrow’s will be?

Well the first batch of Eureka SYW figures have yet to arrive, but it's payday again, so I've stuck in another order...

My mate Phil also bought my remaining Macedonian odds and sods (after a former friend sold the vast majority of the army that I didn't even know he had in his possession...). By way of payment he's ordered me a spanking new French SYW army from Eureka. As there's no cash or bank transactions involved, this fresh acquisition should completely escape the hawk-like vision of the Memsahib...
